The Story Behind the Songs

Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you

teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns,

and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

MUSIC is an important part of our worship and praise to God. In order to have a great song, it not only has to be well written, well played, and well sung; but it has to have great lyrics! Common Bond endeavors, with each song they select to:

COMMUNICATE TRUTH

  • the truth about who God is;
  • the truth about His character;
  • the truth about our need for Salvation
  • the truth about who we are in Christ
  • the truth about how we should live in relationship to Him
  • the truth about our relationships with each other

Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 John 4:7-9 - Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

THE REST OF THE STORY...

In support of the goals listed above, we see value in selecting songs that have a personal message. Frequently as we are selecting new songs to record, a particular lyric pulls at our own heartstrings and brings to mind a particular situation or truth. We often share these from the stage so that you, too, have the opportunity to connect to the song. These ‘connections’ may be a catalyst to find strength, comfort, perspective, or even conviction.
